Who will benefit from RCV?
- If you want to crank your tube amps but not have a sound engineer tell you to turn down, RCV is for you.
- Anyone that is running mono, dual mono or stereo tube amps and has stage volume restrictions.
- If you need to run unbalanced signal up to 300 feet - RCV is for you.
RCV is a passive box designed to receive balanced signal from LongLine via its XLR jacks. It can receive a stereo XLR signal from LongLine and convert it to unbalanced 1/4" outputs so you can plug your signal directly into your amp up to 300 feet away from your pedalboard. It is designed to work with a stereo / dual mono signal (sending to two amps) or a mono signal (sending to one amp) and is completely passive (no power required for RCV).
Why would someone want to run their amps up to 300 feet away from their pedalboard? If you have stage volume restrictions but value your guitar tone, you want to crank your amps to their sweet spot. Even in stadiums, this is generally too loud. This means you need to run your amps a long distance away from stage in another room. LongLine and RCV allow you to do this with ease!
You must use LongLine with RCV for best results. LongLine lives on or near your pedalboard, RCV lives near your amps.
Run a long XLR cable (or cables) from Longline to RCV. Run a short instrument or patch lead from RCV to your amps. Done.
